What to Expect:

You may notice a chlorine taste or smell in the water. This is normal, and the water is safe to drink. To reduce chlorine taste or odor, use an affordable faucet-mounted filter or chill a pitcher of water in the refrigerator. Fire hydrant flushing may cause cloudy water, air bubbles, or slight pressure changes. Run your faucet until the water clears, and clean faucet screens if needed.

After August 31: The system will return to using chloramines, a milder disinfectant.
